Visual Effects Supervisor

Nikos Kalaitzidis is a multi-award winning visual effects supervisor, bringing more than 20 years’ experience in film and commercial visual effects to Digital Domain. With an eye for detail, and a knack for solving the most challenging creative and technical obstacles, Nikos’ leadership translates onto screens effortlessly.

Nikos is currently on production for a highly anticipated primetime network television show.

Nikos recently wrapped on DC Comics’ “Shazam!” For Marvel Studios’ “Ant-Man and the Wasp,” where he brewed up never-before-seen storms in the quantum realm with director Peyton Reed and VFX Supervisor Stéphane Ceretti. Nikos supervised visual effects alongside director Ava DuVernay on Disney’s “A Wrinkle in Time” creating the epic tesseract transitions between worlds.

His work is often recognized by his peers and the industry, including Academy Award-nominated “The Avengers” and internationally-acclaimed feature film “Shadow,” which received several Golden Horse awards, including for Best Visual Effects. On the commercial side, Nikos received a VES award for Outstanding VFX for his work with Bacardi.

Over the course of his career, Nikos has contributed his expertise to more than 30 feature films including “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” “TRON: Legacy,” “The Fate of the Furious” and “Free State of Jones,” the Civil War drama starring Matthew McConaughey, directed by Gary Ross. 

Nikos was known for his tireless pursuit for perfection as Digital Effects Supervisor, and became a shining star, earning his way to the lead role of visual effects supervisor. This depth of knowledge brings an efficient and effective digital workflow to every project. He skillfully assembles teams of artists and crew, inspiring everyone to focus on the highest quality, while still bringing the project in on budget and on schedule.
